Sister Bonding

The past couple days I've taken lots of crazy pictures with Abby, and she keeps asking...
"are these going to end up on your blog?"
Naturally, now they must.

Monday night we went to get ice cream.
We car partied and did weird things at the store.

Then today, we found lots of fun things to try on while shopping.
Like these dresses.

&these flowered pants.
"Those look like pajamas!"
"I actually kind of like them..."

&these skirts.

&these accidentally matching dresses.

&these... interesting outfits.

&these shirts.

Then we went to Panera for lunch.
Yum.

When I got home, I played dress up.
What else do you do when you get new clothes?

Then I had a job interview for a 2 week position later in August.
Fingers crossed. I could use the extra money.

And finally, I miss this girl a lot.
Sometimes (aka ALL the time) I wish we lived closer so I could see her all the time until I was sick of her face (which could neverever happen).

I just have to say

I am so very thankful for kind, considerate, empathetic, wonderful people who believe in forgiveness.
This morning, for the first time ever, I was late for a babysitting job.
My alarm didn't go off, I hit every possible red light, and I made a few wrong turns.
BUT, the mom was SO NICE about it.
And the kids were so well-behaved.
Everything turned out okay.
Phew.

I love children. So so so much. :)

In other news, here is a 10 second update on my life:

Trampoline. Yes, it's ours.

500+ dots on this dot-to-dot.
Yes, I took the time to complete it.
It's a kangaroo.

I made the President's List spring quarter for my high grades.
Woohoo!

I like to send mail.
And decorate the envelopes.
Hehehe.
:)

This upcoming week, I'm nannying.
Then I am headed to Auburn/Ocean Shores with some friends.
Then to Idaho for the grandparents' 50th anniversary/vow renewal!
Then BACK TO BELLINGHAM.
:D :D :D

Okay, it's a sunny Saturday, so back to real life now.
:)

hello there.

I'm Lindsay and I like chocolate, adventures, and mascara.
I'm a big Harry Potter nerd and I like to be silly all the time.

I figure it's time for an update on my life, so here we go!

My sister and I like to be weird.
We tried this facial thing. Let's just say it wasn't the best thing ever.
Well, now we know!

Miss Madeline turned 10 years old recently.
THAT'S A WHOLE DECADE.
Holy guacamole girl, stop getting old so fast.

My family gets 4th of July points for having a red, white and blue breakfast!
I think life should be a game because I would have SO MANY points.
Daughter points, best friend points, sister points, girlfriend points, student points, babysitter points.
Oh man.
Then I could redeem them for lots of tickets like at Chuck E Cheese and get SO MANY cool prizes.
I'd share the with the less fortunate of course.
I'd be a good rich person...
Anywooo.
:)

For those of you interested (more people than I'd like to know, actually)...
This is my boyfriend of 5 months.
Don't ask why he is wearing that, I've just come to accept that it's who he is.
He's really not THAT weird. Or maybe he is.
But the point is, he finally met my family!
Success!
He even passed the test and everything.
What a relief.

THEN THIS GIRL CAME TO SEE ME.
IT WAS SO EXCITING.
I LOVE SARAH ADAMS.
BEST FRIENDS FOR LIFE.

Okay, caps lock is off again.

We went to Portland.
There we went to Slappy Cakes for breakfast.
You get to make your own pancakes!

Then we visited the rose gardens :)

And got VooDoo Donuts, of course!

Later, we made ice cream.

And wore cool clothes!

And jumped around!

And finger painted!
We missed and got some on our faces too...

Then we had a photoshoot!

With bubbles!

And sunshine!

Finally, we went to OMSI.
We learned a lot about science there.

Today, we had a picnic with my dad :)

<3

There were pretty flowers nearby!

They got a little wet... :P

So basically, my summer is just a lot of sitting around and whatnot.
Still nannying when I'm needed.
Seeing friends here and there.
Same old, same old.

Sooo...
TTFN

expectations are rarely met

I'm not really sure why I bother expecting anything, because life almost never cooperates.
My plan for the summer was
a) do nothing for awhile after my first "official" year of college
b) clean out my room
c) try to find some low key babysitting jobs or something
d) see people like Sarah that I haven't seen in forever because we finally both have time

But instead, I come home to endless questions about what I will be occupying my time with.
So I get a job (supposedly a positive thing) as a nanny for a 7 year old boy and a 14 year old girl. I'm there every other week, 8-10 hours a day. And let me tell you, after a week of being there the only things I'm positive about is that I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I adore kids more than most people out there, I work so hard at being patient and fun and engaging, kids tend to like me.
This is one job that is driving me up a wall.
At least it's something, right?

On another note, I got the room cleaning out done. Woohoo.
I've also done enough sitting around for my liking.
And I've spent quality time with my family and haven't gone completely insane from being home yet.

The only thing left to do is see Sarah, and she comes in a week and a half!

Although I did have a 4 hour skype session with her the other day... Haha.

Here's what else I've been up to...

This wonderful girl came to see me.
:)

Father's Day in Portland!

I have some other pictures in various places, but that's basically it.
OH! Except this little project I've undertaken for my wonderful grandparents.
It involves looking through some really great old pictures.

My parents when the graduated from WWU.
It was weird to look at this and realize I knew where they were standing, haha.

My first day of kindergarten.

Abby in preschool :)

Maddie in preschool!

Here's where the really great photos are.
My grandparents 50 years ago, when they got married.
They were so cute!
I love looking at all these photos.

My dad and his 2 older sisters.
So adorable.

Tell me you don't love old photos and I'll look at you like you're crazy.

I miss Bellingham.
I miss my job there, those kids are wonderful.
I miss Theresa and Paulina and the other random people who would brighten up my day.
I even miss the people I saw all too often but didn't actually know with titles like "creeper psych guy" "green pants guy" and "nice skin guy".
I'm excited to go back in August.
That's all.
